Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream in Tulare, CA is seeking an on-site production associate to provide vacation relief in the chocolate room. You will monitor the mix room and receiving schedules, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure sanitation, flavoring, and proper staging of ingredients.

Job description

Role and Activity
  • Responsible for providing coverage for vacation day off relief in the chocolate room.
  • Check mix room and receiving schedules for day and week. Contact necessary points of contact (ex. Vendors, supervisors, Mix Room Manager, mix room scheduler, etc.) to make needed changes.
  • Check long term scheduling for tempering and flavoring requirements.
  • Check computer emails daily to ensure alignment and awareness of communication regarding changes.
  • Coordinate activities required for sanitation, flavoring, and straining.
  • Complete sanitation requirements and all required sanitation documentation.
  • Set up equipment as needed.
  • Set up and stage ingredients as needed.
  • Look ahead and complete Temper Thaw as needed for flavoring.
  • Complete all SAP related transactions and ensure ingredients are good to use prior to staging and using.
  • Maintain inventory of and coordinate the processing of rework as necessary.
  • Coordinate the tempering rework as needed.
  • Complete all operator level PM’s and cycle counts.
  • Complete all critical documentation (ex. HACCP, QMS, Vigilistics/Circuit charts documentation) and daily paperwork/documentation.
  • Participate in the Self-Inspection Audits and follow up with supervisor to ensure issues were resolved.
  • Act with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals and tasks.
  • Know and understand department metrics of quality, reliability and safety.
  • You are responsible for your performance, efficiencies, waste, quality, safety, results.
  • Follow, monitor and understand all GMP/HACCP/QMS and product safety regulations.
  • Keep waste to a minimum.
  • Badge in and out on time. Be at your work area as scheduled and on time to pre and post shift meetings.
  • Stay focused at all times! Make timely decisions. Find root cause and solution to problems.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older

  • One-year related experience (preferred).
Work Environment

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.
The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay for prospective employees in this role is $29.77 per hour.
