Job summary

Sinai Chicago is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to support the Outpatient Retail Pharmacist with filling medications and transcribing prescriptions. The role includes direct patient interaction at the window and handling incoming calls.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with HIPAA privacy rules and maintain professional conduct while ensuring timely completion of tasks in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• PTCB Certification preferred.
• Illinois licensed pharmacy technician by the Department of Professional Regulations.

Job description

The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Outpatient Retail Pharmacist in the filling of medications, transcribing of prescriptions, and clarifying with prior authorizations. The technician will interact directly with patients at the window and be responsible for taking phone calls. Technicians must act professionally and be courteous at all times. It is expected the technician will complete his or her tasks in a timely manner to meet the demands of the pharmacy. The technician must be familiar with HIPAA compliance and handling of private medical information.

Education and/or licensure requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• PTCB Certification preferred.
• Illinois licensed pharmacy technician by the Department of Professional Regulations
