Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Ontology Specialist to support an investment banking client in New York City. You will define how organizational knowledge, transaction data, relationships and institutional intelligence are structured, classified and connected across the business.

This hybrid role requires three onsite days in NYC, focusing on ontologies and enterprise knowledge graphs that power AI-driven search and discovery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in ontology development and knowledge management.
• Experience in financial services industry and enterprise ontology frameworks.
• Expertise in taxonomy management, governance and metadata standards.
• Deep knowledge of ontology design, taxonomy management and ER modelling.
• Develop knowledge graphs and semantic models to support AI, search and discovery.
• Translate complex business concepts into scalable KM solutions.
• Partner with executive stakeholders and business leaders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management as Ontology SME.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Ontology and Knowledge Management SME, driving ontology and knowledge graph capabilities.
• Build enterprise ontology framework, taxonomy strategy and knowledge graph architecture from the ground up.
• Design ontologies modelling relationships across companies, sponsors, transactions, industries and geographies.
• Develop scalable semantic models supporting AI-powered search and intelligent retrieval.
• Normalise M&A transaction data to create meaningful relationships and institutional intelligence.
• Collaborate with bankers to capture domain knowledge and translate concepts into ontology-driven data models.
• Define metadata standards, taxonomy governance and best practices for enterprise KM.
• Act as thought leader on ontology, semantic technologies and knowledge graph strategy.
• Work with AI, data engineering and business teams to enhance the knowledge ecosystem.
• Ensure quality and consistency of enterprise knowledge assets and relationships.
• Support evolution of the AI and KM roadmap through ontology and graph enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the firm's Ontology and Knowledge Management SME, driving the development of ontology and knowledge graph capabilities across the organisation.
• Build and establish the enterprise ontology framework, taxonomy strategy, and knowledge graph architecture from the ground up.
• Design and maintain ontologies that model relationships across companies, sponsors, transactions, industries, geographies, advisors and deal participants.
• Develop scalable semantic models that support AI-powered search, knowledge discovery and intelligent retrieval.
• Structure, normalise and curate M&A transaction data to create meaningful business relationships and institutional intelligence.
• Partner with bankers and stakeholders to capture domain knowledge and translate complex business concepts into ontology-driven data models.
