Job summary

Penomic is hiring an Ontology & AI Engineer for a fully remote role (US/EU). You will build ontology-assisted retrieval, reasoning and context-assembly systems that connect structured knowledge to decision workflows.

You will translate competency questions and golden answers into production evaluations, improve document understanding, provenance and evidence-grounded generation, and collaborate with a small, passionate team on cutting-edge AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in machine learning, knowledge engineering, semantic systems or adjacent work.
• Strong Python skills and production experience with LLM or graph systems.
• Working knowledge of semantic-web standards or willingness to learn deeply.
• Experience with evaluation, retrieval and document understanding.
