Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply seeks a dedicated VMI Specialist to be the on-site face with a major customer project lasting three to four years. You will own inventory, replenish materials before shortfalls, and coordinate with the customer’s team to keep materials flowing on schedule.

Responsibilities include on-site inventory management, proactive replenishment, and active communication with project leadership and Shepherd teams to maintain service levels across the project life.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of VMI, warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience; customer-facing or site experience preferred.
• On-site project assignment with long duration; professional presence required.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Own on-site inventory for the designated project; manage counts, storage, and discrepancies.
• Coordinate replenishment timing with branch, purchasing, and delivery to keep stock ahead of demand.
• Serve as primary Shepherd contact on-site; liaise with customer leadership on schedules and forecasts.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, track fill rates, and report progress to Shepherd and customer.
• Ensure vehicle readiness and safety; support site processes and team coverage for multi-year project.
• Protect safety standards and proper handling; document processes for continuity.
