Job summary

YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish seeks a compassionate Community Advocate for our Gender-Based Violence Services team. You will provide trauma-informed advocacy and case management to adult survivors of exploitation, DV, and sexual assault.

The role helps survivors access housing, healthcare, and community resources, coordinating plans to support safety, stability, and self-determination; travel across South King County is required and the role is onsite.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Direct Social Service experience or lived experience in lieu of a degree.
• Familiarity with navigating multiple systems (municipal, courts, law enforcement).
• Experience with gender-based violence survivors from marginalized communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, and ongoing case management.
• Conduct comprehensive client intakes and assess needs to determine eligibility.
• Develop individualized service plans to promote safety and self-determination.
• Create safety plans tailored to clients' circumstances and goals.
• Connect clients with housing, healthcare, and community resources.
• Complete housing assessments and coordinate emergency shelter when needed.
• Navigate legal and community systems including protection orders and family law.
• Advocate to reduce barriers and respond to referrals and crises.
• Develop partnerships with community organizations and represent YWCA at meetings.
• Plan trainings to raise awareness of YWCA services.
• Document records and complete grant reporting and program narratives.
