Job summary

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Instructor fellowship in Spine within the Department of Neurosurgery. This one-year program seeks a neurosurgeon who has completed an accredited residency and can obtain an unrestricted Ohio medical license.

The successful candidate will join a five-surgeon spine team, provide inpatient and outpatient care, teach medical students and residents, and participate in curricula and committees.

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Ohio medical license
• Graduation from an accredited Neurosurgery residency

Responsibilities

• Provide broad patient care in clinical specialty including inpatient and outpatient care.
• Precept medical students and/or residents; deliver lectures or lead discussions as part of curriculum.
• Liaise between residents and attending physicians across UCMC, CCHMC, and community sites.
• Supervise clinical duties and administrative functions as directed by leadership.
• Coordinate and triage outside admissions to UCMC medical teams.
• Serve as on-call physician for UC, VAMC, and CCHMC services.
• Mentor residents throughout training; contribute to curricula and conferences.
• Participate in hospital and medical school committees as appropriate.
