Job summary

MAD Security, LLC is seeking a seasoned Security Operations Center Manager to lead the 24/7 SOC team, including the SOC Desk Manager and SOC Technical Lead, in Huntsville, AL. You will set strategic direction for security operations, while overseeing day-to-day performance through your managers and staff.

You will collaborate with network and firewall engineers, cyber operations leads, and compliance consultants in a CMMC Level 2 environment and a certified C3PAO.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in information security/IT with significant SOC experience.
• Experience running a 24/7 security operations function and leading managers/technical leads.
• Proven track record managing SLA/KPI performance and occupancy of staffing targets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the 24/7 SOC and own client outcomes incl. SLAs and KPIs.
• Run SOC service to published standards; staff, enforce, and improve them.
• Own tier definitions, training, and certification standard for SOC team.
• Own SOC metrics and capacity reporting, and reporting cadence.
• Represent SOC in client and commercial decisions; align SOC with client commitments.
• Drive detection quality, threat hunting, and incident response; take incident command when required.
• Lead and develop SOC Desk Manager and SOC Technical Lead; hire and manage SOC staff.
• Champion AI and automation while preserving human oversight in critical decisions.
• Communicate regularly with clients, team, and executive leadership.
