Phoenix Cyber in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a SOC Analyst to join client delivery on-site at the Chandler location. The role involves monitoring network traffic, IDS/SIEM, and security events with overnight shift coverage.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, two years of security experience, incident response experience, CEH or CySA+ plus DoD 8570 certifications within six months of hire, and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ experience in security.
• Experience in handling incident response.
• CEH certification or CySA+ AND DoD 8570 related certs within 6 months of hire.
• Active Secret Clearance (must be currently active).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze network traffic, IDS, security events and logs; distinguish between real intrusions and false alarms.
• Develop, maintain, and follow SOC SOPs.
• Support daily and monthly situation reporting per shift.
• Proactively review large data sets for anomalous activity.
• Create detective content for IDS/SIEM and advise on proactive blocks for security architecture.
• Create and track security investigations to resolution.
• Draft security alert notifications and communications.
• Advise incident responders on steps to investigate and resolve incidents.
• Stay updated with current vulnerabilities and countermeasures.
• Work a shift schedule and multitask under pressure.
