Job summary

Entergy is seeking a talented Project Engineer Sr Staff to join the Power Development engineering team onsite at The Woodlands, TX or New Orleans, LA. The role focuses on developing and maintaining engineering standards for new gas-generation projects and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure constructible, compliant designs.

Candidates should have 10+ years in engineering design, construction, or operation of power systems, with a BS in engineering and PE/PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals within at least one discipline.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering science and technology as applied to power generation.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safe behavior and adheres to project safety rules.
• Maintains and updates engineering design basis documents for new generation projects.
• Supports technical evaluation of project proposals against Entergy standards.
• Supports regulatory submittals and interfaces with regulators as needed.
• Identifies engineered safety controls during design.
• Leads cross-functional teams in EPC contract development.
• Ensures documentation supports audits and prudency reviews.
• Participates in decision records and documents key trade-offs.
• Acts as contract manager for engineering contracts outside EPC scope.
• Performs design reviews to ensure permit and code compliance.
• Coordinates with project managers to meet project deliverables.
• Supports contractor/vendor selection based on experience and capability.
• Applies value-engineering concepts for competitive project outcomes.
• Supports change-management processes.
