Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who approaches quality as a software engineering discipline. This role designs, develops, and maintains automated testing for our enterprise web applications and will work with developers and product owners to build reliable test suites and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Eng, or related field.
• Proven software engineer or SDET experience.
• Strong C# proficiency.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core/Blazor and React.
• Experience with Playwright, NUnit, and bUnit.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot AI tools.
• Solid SDET methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Git and Azure Pipelines proficiency.
• SQL Server knowledge; Progress ABL is a plus.
• Blazor and MudBlazor familiarity (preferred).
• Azure cloud familiarity.
• CI/CD, Docker, and DevOps practices.
• ISTQB certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, tooling, and supporting infrastructure.
• Design and implement automated test coverage for new features, existing functionality, and regression scenarios.
• Create and maintain mocks, stubs, fakes, test doubles, and simulated services to enable reliable testing of complex application workflows.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and work to improve deployment confidence and release quality.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, ensuring they are addressed promptly.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver quality feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to ensure application scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on usability, functionality, and testability.
• Leverage bug tracking and test management tools to manage test activities and report on test progress.
• Continuously improve testing methodologies and drive innovation in the SDET function.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in software test automation.
• Mentor and support other team members on quality standards, testing strategies, and process improvements.
