Job summary

Primoris Energy Services in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Safety Tech to support on-site safety programs, inspections, and incident investigations. You will help enforce OSHA-compliant policies, promote safe work practices, and deliver toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.

The role requires active collaboration with project teams and travel to multiple sites. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in safety, OSHA 30-Hour, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the energy, construction, or industrial sector.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, EPA).
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, hazard identification, and risk assessment techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform physical duties associated with job site inspections, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and client requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Monitor compliance with safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and fall protection.
• Assist with incident investigations, including gathering information, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with project management, superintendents, and foremen to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions.
• Respond to and assist with emergency situations on-site.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through positive reinforcement and continuous communication.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations.
