Job summary

Anning-Johnson Company is seeking an Onsite Safety Person to monitor and enforce safety on commercial drywall construction sites. You will ensure field activities comply with OSHA standards and company policies, and support a culture of safety through inspections, training, documentation, and collaboration with field personnel and site leadership.

The role requires 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA 30, strong communication, and the ability to work independently on active sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain detailed documentation.
• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, and navigate construction sites in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections of job sites to identify hazards and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Lead safety orientations and toolbox talks for new employees.
• Monitor PPE use and safe work practices among field crews.
• Assist in accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records including inspection reports and training logs.
• Collaborate with Foreman and field leadership to reinforce safety expectations and stop unsafe work.
