Job summary

System One for a US biotechnology site in Boston seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead a multi-partner programme from concept to demonstration, reporting to the CTO's deputy. The role oversees an end-to-end schedule across manufacturing and analytics, coordinating subcontracting and milestone-based invoicing across eleven partners.

Ideal candidates bring 8–12 years in hardware-biotech development, familiarity with FAR/2 CFR 200, and a track record delivering multi-subsystem instruments

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering, physical science or life science, ideally systems engineering.
• Eight to twelve years managing complex development programmes combining hardware and biology, ideally federally funded.
• Proven track record delivering multi-subsystem instruments from architecture to customer demonstration.
• Conversant with FAR and 2 CFR 200 cost principles, subcontract management, milestone-based invoicing and federal reporting cadence.
• Technical literacy to read P&ID, system block diagrams and interface control documents.
• Autonomy to run the programme day to day and report to the Principal Investigator.
• Desirable: ARPA-H/BARDA/DARPA prime experience; RNA/LNP or cell and gene therapy exposure; INCOSE training.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of the programme on behalf of the CTO and PI; act as deputy.
• Build and own the integrated master schedule for manufacturing and analytics systems.
• Author and maintain the Project Plan Document; run kickoff and design reviews with the sponsor.
• Manage the deliverable workflow across about fifty contract deliverables with gates before sponsor.
• Handle subcontracts, teaming agreements, milestones, invoicing across eleven partners.
• Control labour burn, budget, earned value, change control and risk tracking in design packages.
• Represent the programme to sponsor managers and verification/validation teams at each gate.
