Kemin Industries is seeking a Research Technician to support Palatant and Specialty Protein R&D for pet food applications, performing analytical testing and sample preparation onsite in Des Moines, IA. The role involves GC, HPLC, and LC-MS analyses and requires meticulous data documentation and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with GC, HPLC, or LC-MS is desirable.
• Must be motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support Palatant and Specialty Protein R&D through analytical testing and sample prep.
• Operate GC and HPLC systems to generate analytical data.
• Follow SOPs and complete assigned work accurately.
• Perform lab experiments under supervision and operate equipment.
• Maintain electronic lab notebooks with detailed records.
• Organize and maintain small lab equipment and instrumentation.
• Exercise laboratory safety practices.
