Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Junior Quality Engineer to sustain quality on the production floor in Saline, MI. This hands-on role focuses on audits, containment, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

You will work with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to meet customer requirements and drive defect reduction. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in manufacturing or quality, reads drawings with GD&T, and can perform root-cause analysis using basic QC tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 1-3 years in manufacturing or quality, Automotive a plus.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
• Knowledge of root cause analyses and problem solving.
• Familiar with Control Plans, LPA, and basic SPC.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor processes and products for quality compliance.
• Conduct product, process, and LPA audits and verify adherence to plans.
• Identify containment actions for nonconforming material and defects.
• Support root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone.
• Assist with customer complaints and warranty investigations.
• Review quality data to identify defect reduction opportunities.
• Verify measurement devices and calibration activities.
• Maintain quality records, audit results, and scorecards.
• Train operators on quality requirements and workmanship standards.
• Participate in internal, customer, and supplier audits as needed.
• Communicate quality concerns to Production and Management.
