Wharton‑Smith, Inc., a respected General Contractor in the Southeast, seeks a Project Superintendent I to lead field operations on Fort Lauderdale projects. This role directs field staff, subcontractors, and ensures safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Ideal candidates bring extensive on-site construction management experience, strong leadership and communication, OSHA 30, and First Aid/CPR. Willingness to coordinate permits, submittals, and project documentation on active sites.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of construction-related experience with multi-million-dollar projects.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities overseeing field personnel and subcontractors.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification is required.
• First Aid & CPR certification required.
• Willingness to travel across Wharton-Smith territories.
• Full-time exempt position with extended hours when needed.

Responsabilités

• Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.
• Maintain a safe and organized workplace.
• Coordinate permit and inspection processes.
• Oversee project setup and temporary facilities; site utilization plans.
• Manage field document control and project documentation; review submittals.
• Lead scheduling activities and assist in creating baseline schedules.
• Mentor and develop field staff; manage staffing and training.
• Identify scope changes and communicate them to the Project Manager.
• Manage budget and equipment logs; ensure cost accountability.
