Job summary

RAND seeks a dedicated Physical Security Analyst in Washington, DC to protect people, facilities, assets, and classified information. This role supports the day-to-day delivery of a comprehensive physical security program across unclassified spaces, closed areas, and SCIFs, reporting to the Physical Security Manager.

The ideal candidate has strong judgment, technical aptitude, and communication skills; must be onsite five days, willing to work after hours, pass background checks, and coordinate

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD 705, 32 CFR Part 117, and SCIF security requirements.
• Experience with access-control, IDS, CCTV systems.
• Experience in unclassified, classified, and SCIF security operations.
• Experience administering access-control databases and verifying clearances.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and ensure compliance with NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117, ICD 705, STIGs, and related requirements.
• Conduct physical security risk assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Prepare SOPs, checklists, and documentation for audits and inspections.
• Manage access control for open, closed, and SCIF areas and maintain ACS database.
• Oversee coordination with contract security guards and vendors.
