Qualifications

• Experience as a registration clerk or related position preferred
• High school diploma or GED
• Able to file alphabetically
• Able to organize and maintain good follow-up
• Able to reach decisions, take appropriate action and follow through within scope of responsibility
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Average computer skills
• Average written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of insurance and billing procedures preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired
• Working knowledge of basic office and clerical skills

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Always include copies of insurance cards, appropriate funds and runsposts HDX. Answers all telephone inquiries in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
• Collects deposits and/or co-pay from patient at time of service.
• Compiles and analyzes pre-admission data.
• Confirms insurance on all Workers Compensation claims.
• Documents in patients notes any financial information needed by the Patient Accounting Office.
