Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and ensure fiscal integrity. This onsite role in Tucson reports to the CEO and partners with COO to steer budgeting, accounting, payroll, and audit readiness for a $50M nonprofit budget.

Responsibilities include presenting financials to the Board, coordinating audits, managing 401(k) administration, banking relations, and system transitions. CPA/CMA preferred, 7–10+ years in nonprofit finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7–10+ years of progressive financial leadership, nonprofit setting preferred.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial modeling.
• Experience presenting to Board and Finance Committee.
• Knowledge of nonprofit GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Experience overseeing payroll, billing, banking, and audits.
• Ability to review contracts and leases.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategy for the organization.
• Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a $50M annual budget.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, nonprofit standards, and payroll laws.
• Oversee payroll operations for 1,800 employees.
• Oversee billing operations and reimbursement compliance.
• Oversee 401(k) plan administration.
• Oversee banking operations, treasury management, and bank relationships.
• Monitor cash flow, investments, and risk management strategies.
• Coordinate annual audit and audit readiness.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and Finance Committee.
• Collaborate with the Finance Committee on budgeting and planning.
• Support leadership goals with process improvements and system transitions.
