Qualifications

• Successful completion of a GDHR-approved examination is required.
• Medical Technologist certificate required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests across multiple disciplines (phlebotomy, hematology, immunohematology, chemistry, bacteriology, serology, parasitology, endocrinology, general immunology, urinalysis).
• Reviews laboratory reports for accuracy before updating patient records; reports to referencing labs when necessary.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation; logs daily temperature checks.
• Orders, evaluates, records, and prints test results; processes reference lab specimens.
• Ensures accurate charges; performs daily quality control and investigates out-of-control runs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field

Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or Medical Laboratory Technology

High school diploma with laboratory training/experience (military medical laboratory training or GDHR-specified training)

GDHR-approved examination
