Job summary

THE LANGUAGE GROUP, LLC is seeking Freelance Onsite Interpreters (Independent Contractors) to cover Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Hampton Roads, Northern VA, Richmond, Williamsburg, and nearby markets in Virginia. Roles require fluency, medical/educational terminology, and adherence to ethics.

A minimum of 6 months interpreting experience and 40+ hours of training are expected; two-hour minimums per assignment are guaranteed.

Qualifications

• 6 months minimum interpreting experience.
• 40+ hours of formal Interpreter Training with fluency tests.
• High level fluency and knowledge of medical, educational and social services terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite interpretation across multiple languages as required.
• Follow company policies, procedures and ethics codes during assignments.
• Maintain professional conduct and adapt to various settings and requirements.
