Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for Manufacturing Infrastructure to build mission‑critical applications used in Starship production, Starlink services, and high‑throughput factories. You will own full software development life cycle, design scalable systems, and partner with engineers across disciplines to deliver impactful solutions.

Ideal candidates bring strong full‑stack skills, 1+ year SPA exposure, experience with Docker/Kubernetes, and proficiency in Python or Java ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline, or 2+ years of software experience.
• Experience in full stack development.
• Proficiency in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar OO language.
• 1+ years building single page web applications.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, and software design.
• Deep understanding of testing, CI, build, deployment, and monitoring.
• Profiling and performance optimization expertise.
• Experience with build systems and package managers (Make, Bazel, Pants, Buck; pip, npm).
• Experience with UNIX-like OS and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Experience with streaming data and message brokers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
• Create new applications to improve SpaceX operations.
• Build prototypes to validate design concepts and constraints.
• Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
• Deep dive into user problems to craft efficient solutions.
• Contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews with the team.
