Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking an Onsite Maintenance Technician to support customer sites with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV systems in a Dallas area environment.

You will work with customers, management, and Global Helpdesk to deliver a world-class service experience, including on-site training and documentation of activities. Travel to multiple job sites is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years audiovisual integration experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools including soldering/crimping.
  • Basic knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and breakdown of conference spaces to meet event needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and test/repair hardware.
  • Clean AV equipment such as cameras, monitors, and fans.
  • Document job site activities and provide client training as needed.
  • Provide timely support for meetings, installations of simple components, and recording help.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Setup and breakdown of conference spaces to meet the customers event needs
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces including but not limited to: ensuring that all technology works as designed and testing/repairing various hardware components
  • Clean various AV equipment including but not limited to: camera lenses, monitors and equipment fans.
  • Responsible for job site documentation and providing client training on the AV Technology as needed
  • Perform support tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to: meeting support, installing non-complex AV components, and video/audio recording support where applicable
  • Collaborate with internal/external teams in a professional manner that reflects the values of AVI-SPL
  • Understand and adhere to local safety standards for all site duties
  • Setup, operate and troubleshoot various audio/video systems
  • Travel to various job sites as required
Items to Consider:
  • AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
  • This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred
Nice-To-Haves:
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred

    • Crestron Professional Installation
    • Exton AV Associate Certification
    • AVIXA Quick Start to the Audio-Visual Industry
