Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a Machine Vision Development Engineer I to contribute to world-class vision systems that automate manufacturing and drive quality improvements. The role is onsite in Zeeland, MI, with a collaborative engineering team and opportunities to design imaging components, software features, and analytics.

You will work on production-ready algorithms, troubleshoot issues, and document outcomes while learning Gentex engineering practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
0–3 years of engineering experience in a technical field (co-op/internship ok).
Foundational knowledge of computer systems and technologies.
Basic understanding of vision hardware, optics, and lighting.
Experience with C# or VB.NET in practical projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing production vision systems, including imaging components, illumination, and PC hardware.
Support development of machine vision algorithms for quality inspection and automation.
Implement new features and fix bugs in production vision applications under senior guidance.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing vision systems for reliability and performance.
Assist in setting up prototype imaging systems and qualify new vision systems in production.
Gather and document analytics from vision algorithms for performance improvements.
Write and maintain technical documentation for end users.
