Job summary

Pomeroy is seeking an IT Help Desk technician to manage desktop support for Windows and Mac systems. You will diagnose issues, respond to alerts, and ensure timely restoration of services across workstation environments.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, clear communication, and the creation of knowledge base resources. Domestic travel is not indicated, and the environment is office-based.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows and Macintosh desktops/laptops in a corporate environment.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations with urgency and empathy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Windows and Macintosh desktops/laptops from network drop to desk, excluding security patches/updates.
• Respond to alerts/escalations from ITSS team and restore devices to operational status.
• Support Mac OS and Apple tools; assist with Mac OS X Server configuration and server administration.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the Help Desk system.
• Load, configure, and update VPN software on desktops/laptops; maintain anti-virus protection.
• Create and distribute knowledge base materials for problem remediation.
• Assist with office moves; disconnect/reconnect desktops and peripherals as needed.
• Prepare IT customer support notices and alerts as required.
