Job summary

HireArt is recruiting an Engineering Technician to support build, test, and maintenance of advanced hardware and systems in a hands-on role. You will assemble, troubleshoot, and modify electrical and electromechanical hardware, supporting prototype development and test activities.

You will work with various hardware components, read schematics, and use diagnostic tools to ensure quality and reliability. This contract position is onsite in San Francisco, with onsite safety procedures in place.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in engineering support or related technical environment.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, electromechanical, computer and hardware systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Experience building and troubleshooting wiring and cable harnesses.
• Familiarity with shop, assembly, and diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Attention to detail and ability to document builds and test results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, modify, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electromechanical hardware systems.
• Diagnose hardware issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and procedures.
• Build and troubleshoot cable harnesses and electrical assemblies.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and system integration activities.
• Configure computers, networking hardware, sensors, and components.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and maintain documentation of tests and changes.
• Identify root causes and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and follow safety procedures.
