Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Field Service Technician to support semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Malta, NY. This on-site role combines troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and documentation with strong autonomy and customer interaction.

You will read schematics, work with electrical heating and process systems, perform on-site measurements, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement technical solutions while adhering to strict safety and cleanroom

Qualifications

This role requires two or more years of field service, maintenance, installation, or related technical experience.
High school diploma is required.
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
Background in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, construction trades, or related hands-on environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair on-site industrial heating and process systems.
Install, commission, and start up equipment per specifications.
Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability, uptime, and safety.
Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support field work.
Use hand tools and test equipment to perform measurements, adjustments, and repairs.
Provide customer-facing technical support and communicate findings clearly.
Create and maintain service reports and project documentation.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to relay field observations.
Adhere to safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
