Job summary

Piper Companies is looking for a Cable Technician to join a design-build and systems integration firm based out of Red Oak, TX. This is a contract role with the opportunity to start ASAP and accrue overtime hours. This role requires the candidate to report onsite in Red Oak, TX.

Essential duties include interpreting blueprints, tracking materials, performing quality installations, building telecom room components, and installing devices such as card readers, cameras and WAPs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a cable technician role.
• General telecom, fiber optics and cable termination experience required.
• Candidates must provide their own PPE.
• OSHA 10 Certification required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints and understands full project/task scope.
• Tracks material and tool inventory on-site.
• Performs quality installations per industry/manufacturer standards.
• Builds and installs telecom room components (racks, ladder rack, grounding, bonding).
• Installs devices such as card readers, cameras, and WAPs.
