Job summary

Carrier is seeking an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) Lead Design Engineer for on-site work in Charlotte, NC. This role leads special order design execution, ensures CAD models and BOMs are robust, and provides technical leadership to on-site and offshore resources in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes hands-on design, manufacturability, and adherence to product development processes, with senior-level responsibilities and independent work expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering with relevant experience.
• 3+ years CAD or 3D modeling experience.
• 3+ years leading design work.
• 3+ years working knowledge of PLM workflows.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design execution for Applied ETO comfort cooling and data center projects from concept through production release.
• Own technical integrity and consistency of CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and configurations.
• Coordinate and drive Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including scope definition and release sequencing.
• Resolve complex design and integration issues with cross-functional teams.
• Provide day-to-day technical direction to onsite and offshore designers.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards and product development processes.
• Track design progress and communicate status to stakeholders.
