Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist to gain hands-on experience in a complex industrial environment. You will work directly with operations to ensure regulatory compliance, manage inspections, and support environmental and safety initiatives.

The role offers exposure to multiple regulatory programs, interactions with technical teams, and practical application of environmental requirements in real time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, regulatory reporting, EHS, or related area.
• Familiarity with EPA, RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify compliance concerns and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain environmental records and prepare required regulatory reports related to air, water, waste, hazardous materials, safety statistics, and sustainability data.
• Assist with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and compliance tracking.
• Participate in investigations of environmental and safety incidents and help develop corrective actions.
• Work with Operations and other teams to strengthen environmental practices and promote sustainable operations.
• Support ongoing site safety initiatives and special projects.
• Translate regulatory changes into practical actions at the site level.
