Volt is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer in Austin, Texas for a fully onsite contract role. You will deliver features, design architecture, and write tests while collaborating with teammates and project leaders to ensure robust software.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering, 5+ years in software development, strong C++, and experience with Windows and Linux drivers. Onsite work with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering (or similar).
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS drivers.
• Understanding of software design and computer architecture principles.
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Experience with testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product features by researching, designing, developing, and documenting efforts.
• Collaborate with team members and project leaders on design discussions and code architecture.
• Specify, design, and implement new product features.
• Troubleshoot product defects and work with team to resolve successfully.
• Develop tests to ensure high code quality and catch future regressions.
• Peer review code changes submitted by other team members.
• Participate in standups, backlog reviews, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions.
• Explore and apply new technologies to improve infrastructure and processes.
