Job summary

Medical Mutual is hiring for an Infrastructure Engineer to advance automation, capacity planning, monitoring and incident response. The role requires contributing to new tech designs and sustaining legacy systems while ensuring reliability in a fully onsite environment at our Brooklyn, OH or Dublin, OH offices.

The candidate will participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams to meet performance objectives and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with DevOps and SRE practices.
• Ability to drive systematic improvements and contribute at high levels with limited direction.
• Ability to communicate across functional areas to solve problems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-critical production environment.
• Ability to research and apply system and security specifications for hardware/software platforms.
• Ability to design, test and document new features and procedures for server systems and security operations.
• Ability to gather, interpret, document and evaluate architectural system requirements.
• Proficiency in using BMC Control-M for automated job management.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reports on the user experience; responds to incidents; conducts postmortems; prevents recurrence of known problems.
• Assists with day-to-day maintenance and operations of Medical Mutual's systems.
• Supports production as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Diagnoses availability, latency and performance issues; improves code and configuration to meet SLAs/SLOs.
• Maintains and executes automated tools to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Mentors junior engineers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
