Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to support the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, VA. You will help build and maintain data pipelines and trusted data products used for Army decision-making and reporting.

This hands-on role requires a solid Python/SQL foundation, data integration skills, and collaboration with Army stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 1+ year of data, software, or analytics engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with ETL/ELT workflows and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git or other source-control systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizens only).
• Onsite work at Fort Lee, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines and data products.
• Collect, transform, and integrate data from diverse sources and systems.
• Develop Python and SQL code for data-processing workflows.
• Conduct data profiling, validation, and quality checks.
• Document data sources, transformations, lineage, and processes.
• Investigate pipeline failures and data-quality issues.
• Support trusted data products for reporting and Army decision-making.
• Use source control, automated testing, and established engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Army stakeholders to derive data requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and promote reusable patterns.
