Job summary

I2X Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer Software Developer to support a government customer at Scott AFB, IL. This on-site role requires an active Secret clearance and will involve designing and operating scalable data pipelines for analytics and reporting.

You will integrate data from multiple sources using Kafka, Elastic Stack, AWS, and OpenShift, build data warehouses, optimize performance, and contribute to DevOps practices while collaborating with analysts and engineers across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on data pipeline design and integration of disparate sources.
• Experience with data warehouse/lake tech (Redshift, S3, Hadoop, Snowflake).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Experience with Elastic Stack and/or Kafka for ingestion/processing.
• Familiarity with DoD network operations data models.
• Linux/UNIX administration and automation experience.
• Knowledge of data security, access controls, and RMF/STIGs.
• CI/CD pipelines, containerized pipelines, Git/Bitbucket, and DevOps.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data systems and pipelines for analytics.
• Unifies data from multiple network systems into a consistent platform.
• Implements solutions using Kafka, Elastic Stack, AWS, and OpenShift.
• Develops data warehouses and lakes to support analytics and dashboards.
• Optimizes ingestion throughput, queries, indexing, and storage.
• Automates ETL/ELT processes and supports CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborates with analysts and engineers; documents architecture and procedures.
• Troubleshoots data ingestion, processing, and platform performance.
