Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a skilled Cable Technician for a large-scale data center construction project in Red Oak, TX. You will install, route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling in a mission-critical data center environment.

Requirements include 1+ year of cabling experience, OSHA certification at start, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will commute to the Red Oak site and work with ladder racks and cable trays.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as Cable/Structured Cabling Technician.
• OSHA certification required on start.
• Experience pulling and terminating copper and/or fiber.
• Ability to read construction drawings and cabling schedules.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; work on ladders and in active construction environments.
• Reliable transportation to Red Oak project site.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, secure and dress copper and fiber optic cabling in the data center.
• Pull Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and fiber optic cable through trays and conduits.
• Terminate and test copper and fiber cabling to industry standards.
• Install cable management systems (ladder rack, basket tray, J-hooks).
• Label cables and maintain project documentation.
• Perform continuity and certification testing with Fluke and fiber testers.
• Read blueprints, floor plans and cabling schematics; install network equipment.
