Job summary

WITRON Logistik + Informatik GmbH in Arlington Heights, IL, seeks a hands-on Construction Manager to oversee electrical and mechanical installations for automated material handling systems across the United States. You will lead on-site teams, coordinate with GC and contractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires up to 90% travel nationwide, with starting salary around $75k plus per diem and allowances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or construction-related roles.
• Associate degree in Industrial Technology or Electronic Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with material handling systems in distribution or light industrial environments is advantageous.
• Prior construction site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee subcontractors during the installation and adjustment of electronic systems.
• Plan and coordinate construction activities, including schedules, timelines, and milestones, with subcontractors and the GC Construction Manager.
• Identify, communicate, and resolve project issues related to schedule, safety, layout, and execution.
• Track project progress against schedules and deadlines; address delays or risks as needed.
• Lead site meetings, document discussions, and maintain construction logs.
• Prepare and update installation and construction documentation.
• Perform quality assurance checks and approve completed electrical and mechanical work areas.
• Ensure subcontractors follow site standards, safety protocols, and code of conduct.
• Conduct ongoing safety checks to maintain compliance across all work areas.
