MAPEI USA, a global leader in construction chemicals and building materials, seeks a Category Manager for Chemicals & Raw Materials at our Deerfield Beach, FL headquarters. This onsite role focuses on sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, and cost optimization to support product development and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate brings a background in strategic sourcing within manufacturing, knowledge of chemical raw materials, and strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2 years of related industry experience or 10 years of related experience/training.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within manufacturing.
• Experience with chemical raw materials, polymers, resins, additives, or specialty chemicals is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate supplier contracts covering price, delivery, quality, and terms.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies with Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, and R&D.
• Ensure reliable supply of critical raw materials and reduce sole-source risk.
• Identify and qualify alternative chemical raw materials and packaging solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and resolve quality issues.
• Track raw material market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support budgeting, reporting, KPI tracking, and supplier management.
