Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Building Operating Engineer at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This full-time, on-site role focuses on maintaining and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems to ensure safe, efficient operations during events.

You will calibrate controls, operate building automation, perform preventive maintenance, and log daily activities. Certifications include City of LA steam license and EPA 608; union advancement is possible with certified status.

Responsibilities

• In a safe and efficient manner, determines the sequence required to install, maintain, adjust, modify and repair HVAC and related systems.
• Performs calibration of electrical and pneumatic control components using blueprints and specs.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs facility equipment including HVAC, building automation, water heaters, and air handling systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on walk-in/freezers, condensers, pumps, and related equipment.
• Keeps daily work activity reports, signs off completed work requests, and maintains logbooks.
• Informs Lead Certified Engineer of parts needed and status of work requests.
• Supports on-site operations during events and collaborates with multiple departments.
• Certified pathway includes City of Los Angeles steam license and EPA 608 Universal Certification.
