Job summary

Konik is seeking an experienced R&D Engineering Manager in St. Paul, MN to lead new product development, certification, and cross-functional engineering initiatives for aerospace products.

This leadership role oversees mechanical, electrical, electronic, and systems engineering, balancing innovation with regulatory compliance and execution across multiple programs. The position emphasizes mentorship, program collaboration, and FAA certification support within a stable growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years of engineering or aerospace industry experience.
• Experience leading new product introductions and complex development programs.
• Background in aerospace, aviation, or other highly regulated technical industries.
• Strong understanding of design processes, systems integration, and problem-solving.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering in fast-paced environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams on research, product development, systems integration, and certification activities.
• Manage new product development initiatives from concept through production launch and certification.
• Provide technical leadership for complex engineering challenges across mechanical, electrical, systems, and aerospace areas.
• Partner with program management to define scope, schedules, risks, and objectives.
• Oversee workload planning, staffing priorities, and resource allocation across projects.
• Support engineering analysis, design reviews, and product development efforts.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and documentation control.
• Collaborate with leadership to align engineering with company strategy and operations.
• Mentor engineering talent and build capabilities for future product goals.
• Support FAA certification activities and regulatory documentation processes.
