Minnesota Connections Academy in Minnesota is seeking a School Social Worker to strengthen home/school/community partnerships and promote a safe, caring environment that supports the emotional and social development of students. The role focuses on dropout prevention and coordinating interventions to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work is required; ASW with PPS or CLSW preferred.
• Experience and demonstrated interest in working with at-risk youth.
• Experience with Special Education preferred.
• Knowledge of Minnesota resources and agencies for healthy social, mental, and academic development of students and families.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for school events (may require overnight travel).

Responsabilités

• Connect students and families with community resources to develop each person’s potential.
• Implement programs for students and families related to interpersonal adjustment issues.
• Work with school teams to access school and community resources, removing barriers to attendance and success.
• Develop crisis prevention and management plans for the school.
• Coordinate with teachers to identify students at risk or in crisis.
• Act as the main contact for these students and families; communicate regularly.
• Report and refer critical incidents per law, regulations, or standards.
• Stay updated on state incident reporting regulations.
• Support professional development for teachers and staff.
• Attend trainings on child abuse, neglect, homelessness, foster care, and related issues; train staff on student safety and welfare.
• Work with the IEP team to develop social goals and provide virtual services to achieve them.
• Other duties as assigned.
