Job summary

Vermont State University Online seeks an adjunct instructor to teach a 3‑credit Business course fully online via Canvas for Spring 2027. The course runs 3/15/2027–5/2/2027, with up to 40 scheduled hours weekly and a compensation range of $1,000–$1,250 per credit.

The instructor will design and update weekly content with an instructional designer, adhere to VTSU Online Standards, and ensure accessibility and student engagement. Master’s degree required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience teaching fully online, asynchronous courses.
• Familiarity with adult learning theory; experience with Canvas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design course using the VTSU Online Canvas Template and add weekly content (outcomes, readings, videos, discussions, assessments).
• Maintain instructor presence, student engagement, and accessibility in line with VTSU Online Standards.
• Publish and finalize the full course at least one week before the semester start.
