Job summary

RISD Continuing Education is seeking instructors for the Winter 2027 term to teach Entomological Illustration through asynchronous online courses. You will develop lectures, demonstrations, and culturally diverse syllabi, providing weekly feedback to help adult learners grow creatively and intellectually.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree and a track record in related design or studio practice, plus the ability to tailor instruction for diverse skill levels and to work with online

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Teaching experience and ability to create syllabi/lesson plans linked to learning outcomes.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback from course evaluations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet RISD’s technology requirements.
• Experience teaching/instruction with inclusivity for diverse learners.
• Experience in content development and online video demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, teach, and provide feedback to promote student learning.
• Develop culturally diverse syllabi for studio/seminar courses.
• Deliver asynchronous online instruction with weekly feedback on student work.
• Demonstrate entomological illustration techniques and specimen handling.
• Create pencil preliminaries and final color renderings across media.
