Job summary

Lone Star College Online seeks an experienced English instructor to teach online courses, develop curricula, and contribute to student success. The role requires delivering engaging, accessible online instruction across diverse student populations.

The candidate will implement innovative teaching methods, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to elevate online learning quality. A Master’s degree in English or related field is essential, with preference for online teaching

Qualifications

Master's degree in English, literature, creative writing or 18 graduate hours in English-related fields.
Experience working in online teaching is preferred.
Experience with online course development and delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Teaches online courses in English in response to institutional needs.
Implements innovative methodologies, techniques and delivery methods to improve instruction.
Develops and uses a syllabus for each course within guidelines.
Plans and uses diverse teaching methods for varied student backgrounds.
Evaluates student progress and communicates outcomes timely.
Reviews and selects learning materials.
Maintains professional relationships with students and colleagues.
Uses posted office hours and electronic communication to reach students.
Engages in professional development and institutional service.
