Job summary

Brock University invites applications for an Education Instructor in the Department of Educational Studies. The online position supports the Religious Education (Roman Catholic) PJIS course with nominal hours and competitive hourly pay.

This role emphasizes equity, inclusion, and social justice within teaching practice and course development. The instructor will deliver content across designated modes, develop materials, and assess students while adhering to OCT Standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of recent teaching experience.
• Master’s degree or other recognized specialization in the field such as a 3-level specialization related to the subject being taught.
• Demonstrated leadership in curriculum and/or education.
• Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum, supporting documents, and approved resources.
• Exhibits contemporary knowledge of educational theory and pedagogy including assessment relevant to subject area.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with growth-oriented feedback.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with Brock University policies and adhere to them.
• Complete required Brock instructor’s online tutorial prior to first class.
• Use a Brock email address for all Brock-related communications.
• Develop course materials.
• Deliver all aspects of the course in designated mode(s) (lecture, blended, etc.).
• Manage instructional contact time and non-contact time, including lecture preparation and grading.
• Adapt instructional and assessment strategies to diverse learning needs.
• Advise and mentor teacher candidates in relation to professional standards.
• Work with course team leads and instructors.
• Attend course team meetings and debriefings.
• Manage course records including attendance and final grades.
