The dissertation chair plays a pivotal role in guiding the candidate through the research process. As the primary advisor of the dissertation process, the chair is responsible for providing expert guidance, ensuring the research process aligns with academic standards, and overseeing the candidate's progress from proposal development to final defense. The chair’s responsibilities include reviewing completed chapters, offering constructive feedback, and helping the candidate refine the research.
