Job summary

Learner Education is seeking experienced Algebra Tutors for a fully remote contract role teaching Algebra 1 and 2, with broader math support from 6th grade to college level as needed. Remote work with flexible scheduling and hourly pay. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, at least 3 years of professional teaching or tutoring, and U.S.

teaching experience within the past 2 years. Strong communication and reliable internet are required; set your own hours, including peak times Mon-Thu 3-10

• Availability during peak hours (Mon–Thu, 3–10 PM ET) is a plus

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Algebra Tutors who can confidently support students in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, with the ability to teach related math subjects from 6th grade through college level as needed. This is a fully remote contract role with flexible scheduling. Tutors who understand the U.S. curriculum and who can support a range of algebraic concepts can connect with more students.

Important clarification about experience

TA experience, peer tutoring, grader roles, SI positions, or lab assistant-only experience do not meet the requirements for this role. Applicants must have direct, professional teaching or tutoring experience with students.

• Tutors with availability during peak hours (Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 PM ET) can connect with more students. Broader weekday and weekend availability is a plus
• Fast and reliable internet connection
• Computer or laptop with microphone and camera. A stylus pen is highly recommended for clear annotations
• Quiet and professional environment

Onboarding & Activation Timeline

As we prepare for upcoming seasonal student demand, onboarding and tutor activation will take place on a staggered schedule based on contract signing date.

• August 1 – August 15 contracts - Estimated onboarding begins September 1
• August 15 – September 15 contracts - Estimated onboarding begins September 15

Tutors will receive ongoing communication and updates throughout the waiting period.
