Job summary

Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center in Towson, MD, is seeking a One to One/Therapeutic Behavior Aide for a full-time, on-site role. The position supports teachers and students in an MSDE-approved therapeutic educational setting on our Towson campus.

You will assist with paraprofessional duties, document progress toward IEP goals, and deliver educational and adaptive behavior support with opportunities to lead activities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or working with a assigned student as a 1:1 dedicated aide.
• Support IEP goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
• Provide educational and adaptive behavior support.
• Provide behavior intervention and treatment.
• Opportunities for leading classroom activities when available.

Description

Schedule: 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday | Job Location Type: In Person

Located on our historic campus in Towson, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program catering to youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program offers structured community and recreational activities alongside full-day special and general education schooling.

What to expect.

You will join a collaborative learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of the students in our care. This role offers rich, entry level, experience in special education if your goals include careers like special education teacher, registered behavior technician (RBT), or board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA). Starting pay rate: $18.50/hour.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Supporting the teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or working with assigned student as a 1:1 dedicated aide.
• Supporting Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
• Providing educational and adaptive behavior support.
