Summary

The purpose of the One to One Observer is to provide personal constant observation of a patient. This position will also communicate with and support the healthcare team, patients, and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Additionally, it will maintain and demonstrate high standards of professional ethics.

Position Responsibilities

• Provides constant one-to-one observation of the assigned patient, ensuring a safe environment and positive interaction in a calm setting.
• Provides restraint care to patients in restraints.
• Identifies and communicates changes in the patient’s status to the RN and responds appropriately.
• Assists in the orientation of the healthcare team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
