Job summary
Cherry County Hospital & Clinic in Valentine, Nebraska is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for hematology and oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and supportive treatments, in a patient-centered team.
The role requires Nebraska RN license and oncology certification; BSN preferred. You will educate patients and families, monitor treatment responses, manage side effects, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality cancer care.
Qualifications
- Must hold a Nebraska RN license.
- Oncology certification required or to be obtained within the required timeframe.
- Oncology experience preferred; BSN preferred.
- Strong communication and compassionate care skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for oncology and hematology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive cancer treatments.
- Monitor patient response, manage side effects, and provide pain control.
- Assess and maintain venous access devices (ports, PICC lines, midlines).
- Perform phlebotomy and IV access procedures.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and resources.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
